About Parseltongue

Parseltongue is the language of snakes invented by J.K Rowling for her famous series Harry Potter. Commonly associated with Dark Magic and Slytherins, this skill is not necessary an evil quality (as Dumbledor states to Harry). People able to speak parseltongue, like Voldemort and Harry Potter are called Parselmouths.
The language is first nominated in Chamber of Secrets when Harry discovers he can speak with the boa constrictor living in the zoo he visits during his cousin birthday. Lately in the same book we find out both Voldemort and Salazar Slytherin were well-know parselmouths.
Being able to speak parseltongue is an ereditary ability and most of the parselmouths are descendants of Salazar himself.

Why this fanlisting?

Since the first time I watched The Chamber of Secrets, I don't know if because of my love for snakes - and how much would be great to be able to speak with these mysterious animals? - or because it sounded wonderful, I found myself in love with this sensual language spoken by Harry.
I did resist when Selene closed the fanlisting because I was trying to stick with my "only wishlisters" policy. But then, after some months, Deborah put it up for adoption and... resisting once? Hard but possibile. Twice? Not!
